The Wetumpka Impact Crater can be viewed across its expanse from Bald Knob, the highest point on the northwestern rim, which is almost 600 feet above sea level and has become a favored area for communication towers. Looking down the power line cut-through reveals the rim on the east side and some of the disrupted, changing terrain inside the crater. Views of the other side of the crater are from private property also pictured here. The Wetumpka Impact Crater is 85 million years old and can be explored and understood through a self-guided tour with educational viewpoint signs.
