Riverdale Road Covered Bridge carries Riverdale Road over the Grand River in Morgan Township, Ohio, near Rock Creek. Built in 1874, it is a single-span Town truss covered bridge, a design distinguished by dense timber latticework. The bridge is one of Ashtabula County’s 16 drivable covered bridges and is recognized in the World Guide to Covered Bridges. Though relatively narrow, it has remained in service through several repairs and upgrades, including replacement of center steel bracing in 1945, reconstruction of the floor and addition of glue-laminated wood girders in 1981, and installation of a new concrete abutment in 1987 after washout damage at the east end.
