Mount Tweto is a steep 13,672-foot peak in Colorado’s Mosquito Range, near the Continental Divide northeast of Leadville, on public land managed by San Isabel and Pike National Forests. Its slopes split runoff between the East Fork Arkansas River and Mosquito Creek, underscoring its place on a drainage divide. Ranked the 12th-highest peak in Park County and 157th in Colorado, it is known for sharp local relief, alpine subarctic conditions, and a demanding but typical seven-mile ascent with substantial elevation gain. In 1986, the mountain was officially named for U.S. Geological Survey geologist Ogden L. Tweto, honoring his long study of Colorado geology and this region in particular.
