Old Homosassa Veterans Memorial is dedicated to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and to all who serve, honoring those whose sacrifices have preserved the freedom Americans have long enjoyed and affirming integrity above all else except honor. It recognizes Purple Heart recipients, including those killed in action, and dedicates a Battlefield Cross statue to the memory of those who have fallen in the nation's battles. The statue was given by the parish of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church to the Flanagan family in memory of Sgt. Dennis J. Flanagan.
