Blackhead
Nature
Blackhead is a mountain in Greene County, New York, in the Catskill Mountains and part of the Blackhead Range, alongside Black Dome and Acra Point, within Catskill Park. It stands in the Hudson River watershed, but its slopes drain in different directions: the southwest through East Kill, Schoharie Creek, and the Mohawk; the north into the headwaters of Batavia Kill; and the east by way of Trout Brook, Shingle Kill, and Catskill Creek. Blackhead also lies on a notable Catskills hiking corridor where the 350-mile Long Path from New York City to Albany joins the Escarpment Trail.
