Nature
Mount Crawford rises above Crawford Notch in New Hampshire’s White Mountains on a spur of Montalban Ridge, overlooking the notch from the ridge’s west side within the Presidential Range–Dry River Wilderness. It is accessed by the Davis Path, which starts near the Notchland Inn and follows Montalban Ridge north toward Mount Washington, while the ridge also links the mountain eastward to Mount Resolution. Its slopes drain into the Saco River system through Sleeper Brook, Raxor Brook, and the Saco itself. The Davis Path preserves the name of Nathaniel T. P. Davis, who created the route and was connected to the Crawford House through his wife’s family.
