Spot Mountain is a 7,831-foot summit in Glacier National Park’s Two Medicine area, in Montana’s Lewis Range. Rising sharply above Lower Two Medicine Lake, it shows nearly 3,000 feet of relief on its south face within two miles. Water from its slopes drains into tributaries of Cut Bank Creek and the Two Medicine River, which later form the Marias River. The mountain is composed of sedimentary rock deposited from the Precambrian through Jurassic periods, and its geologic setting reflects the Lewis Overthrust, which began about 170 million years ago. In an alpine subarctic climate, it has long, snowy winters, cool to warm summers, and year-round precipitation.
