Feather Falls
Nature
Feather Falls is a waterfall on the Fall River, a tributary of the Middle Fork Feather River, in Plumas National Forest in the Sierra Nevada of eastern California. The nearby community of Feather Falls was named for the cascade. The falls measure 410 feet, despite frequent incorrect claims that they are 640 feet tall. They are sometimes partly visible from the middle arm of Lake Oroville, but most visitors reach an observation platform by one of two trails maintained by the United States Forest Service. The surrounding area is also known for Frey Creek, where millions of migrating ladybugs gather through the winter before returning to the valley in spring.
