Wasatch Mountain State Park, established in 1961 near Midway in Utah’s Heber Valley, is one of the state’s largest and most developed mountain recreation areas. Covering 21,592 acres at about 5,900 feet, it supports year-round activities including camping, hiking, horseback riding, off-road vehicle use, golf, Nordic skiing, tubing, and snowmobiling. Its three sections include the main park, Soldier Hollow, and quieter Dutch Hollow. Soldier Hollow gained wider recognition by hosting events during the 2002 Winter Olympics and remains a public winter sports venue. The park also preserves historic sites linked to Heber Valley’s rural past, including Tate Barn, Huber Grove, and the Snake Creek Hydroelectric Power Plant Historic District.
