Nature
Scar Ridge, also called Scar Ridge (West Peak), is a trailless mountain in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, situated between Loon Mountain, Black Mountain, and Mount Osceola. With no single established route to its summit, it can be approached in several ways. The mountain lies within the watershed of the Pemigewasset River: its northeast slopes drain through the Hancock Branch to the East Branch of the Pemigewasset, while its southwest side drains through a chain of brooks into Eastman Brook and then the Pemigewasset. Those waters eventually flow to the Merrimack River and reach the Gulf of Maine at Newburyport, Massachusetts.
