Laurel Ridge State Park is a 13,625-acre Pennsylvania state park that follows the crest of Laurel Hill across non-contiguous tracts in Cambria, Fayette, Somerset, and Westmoreland counties. Approved on July 10, 1967, by Governor Raymond P. Shafer, it reflects the long ridge landscape it spans rather than a single continuous preserve. Much of the 70-mile Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail runs through the park from Ohiopyle State Park to Conemaugh Gorge near Johnstown, and all of the trail’s overnight shelter areas are within its boundaries. Recreation is centered on year-round trail use, including hiking, hunting, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.
