Ranger Peak is an 11,360-foot mountain in the northern Teton Range of Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, rising more than 4,500 feet above Jackson Lake across from Colter Bay Village. Bordered by Colter Canyon to the north and Waterfalls Canyon to the southeast, it stands out for its steep relief and remote setting. With no maintained trails, reaching the summit requires off-trail travel and scrambling. The peak is also linked to a fatal avalanche on March 7, 2012, when expert skiers Chris Onufer and Steve Romeo were killed after a slide released high on the north side of Waterfalls Canyon and ran deep into the canyon below.
