Uxbridge honored its soldiers who served in the War for the Union from 1861 to 1865 by recording the names of men from the town across the monument’s south, east, north, and west faces, including enlisted men and officers such as lieutenants, sergeants, corporals, captains, and an assistant, preserving a roll of local Civil War service.
