Tripod Rock is a glacial erratic in Kinnelon, New Jersey, within the Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area, where a massive Precambrian gneiss boulder rests on three smaller stones near the edge of a ridge. Measuring about 6 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 2.5 meters high and weighing roughly 127 tonnes, it is notable for both its unusual perched form and great size. It stands among other balanced boulders on the ridge, overlooking a valley where Bear Rock lies near a brook. Together, these features make the area especially significant as a vivid example of glacial transport and deposition.
