Proud Lake State Recreation Area is a state-managed public park in Commerce Township near Wixom in southeastern Michigan, covering 3,030 acres along the Huron River. Established in 1944 as one of ten state recreation areas created in southeast Michigan, it has long served as a regional outdoor destination. The area supports hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, cross-country skiing, picnicking, hunting in limited areas, and camping. Its facilities include 20 miles of trails, with 9 miles open to horses and mountain bikes, a campground with 130 campsites, and a cabin for 24 people.
