Mount Mills is a 13,457-foot summit on the Sierra Crest in California’s Sierra Nevada, within the John Muir Wilderness on the boundary of eastern Fresno County and northwestern Inyo County. Rising above the Mono Recesses as part of the high granite crest, it is both a thirteener and one of California’s 4,000-meter peaks. Its location makes it a prominent topographic high point and a boundary marker in a rugged alpine landscape. The mountain was named for banker Darius Ogden Mills, associated with the founding of Millbrae and the Carson and Colorado Railroad. The name was in use by 1912 and appeared on the first edition of the Mount Goddard topographic map.
