Doeskin Hill is a 492-foot hill in Framingham, Massachusetts, west of Nobscot Hill near Sudbury, with a recorded identity dating to at least 1658. Its name is linked to sworn 1736 testimony in which Hopestill Brown recalled that his father and Mr. Pelham climbed the hill for its view, and Pelham lost a doeskin glove there and named the place. The testimony also reflects earlier uncertainty over whether Doeskin referred to this summit, the eastern hill, or the whole chain near Nobscot. Brown’s account also places part of Joseph Berry’s orchard on the hill’s western side, preserving a glimpse of the area’s former agricultural landscape.
