Daisy Mountain Preserve is a protected expanse of Arizona State Trust land in northern Maricopa County, covering about six square miles across Anthem, Desert Hills, New River, and north Phoenix. This undeveloped Sonoran Desert landscape has cacti, dry shrubbery, and seasonal washes, with no water supply because of limited rainfall. Open to the public by permit, it is managed for low-impact recreation, with restrictions on motorized vehicles and informal paths used for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, photography, and birding. Access includes the nearby Anthem Trailhead, while ongoing local efforts seek stronger preserve status and a formal hiking trail.
