Charles D. Ross was born in Wevertown, New York, on February 16, 1930, was a member of the Wevertown Volunteer Fire Co., served in the United States Army with Company M, Third Battalion, Seventh Cavalry Regiment, was killed in action in the Korean War on August 8, 1951, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
