Delicate Arch has become a powerful and lasting symbol, serving as an emblem of Arches National Park and the city of Moab, and also as an icon for the State of Utah, the American West, and sometimes the entire National Park Service. Unique and rugged, the arch somehow accomplishes what seems impossible. Around 1906, a photographer took the first known picture of Delicate Arch, and today the same arch appears on postcards, logos, souvenirs, the Utah license plate, and much more.
