Kaleetan Peak is a 6,259-foot mountain in Washington’s Cascade Range within the Alpine Lakes Wilderness near Snoqualmie Pass. Rising sharply above Kaleetan Lake and the surrounding basins, it is especially notable for its steep, prominent profile and its place among the granite peaks, ridges, and lakes of this rugged landscape. Its runoff feeds tributaries of the Snoqualmie River. The name, from Chinook Jargon meaning “arrow,” was selected by members of The Mountaineers and officially adopted in 1916 by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names. The peak’s dramatic form was shaped by Cascade uplift, faulting, and repeated Pleistocene glaciation.
