Chair Peak is a 6,238-foot mountain in Washington’s Cascade Range, in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness near Snoqualmie Pass. Rising immediately south of Snow Lake, it gains about 2,200 feet above the lake in only half a mile, giving it a strikingly steep profile. Its runoff feeds tributaries of the Snoqualmie River, and Kaleetan Peak is the nearest higher summit. Chair Peak stands within a rugged landscape of craggy ridges, deep valleys, granite walls, and many lakes formed through long geologic processes and repeatedly carved by Pleistocene glaciation. Its setting in the western Cascades also brings a marine west coast climate with heavy winter precipitation and snowfall.
