Throughout the history of File Lake, various bandstands stood on the village green. A larger photograph from 1880 shows a bandstand with Foster’s Market in the background. A smaller photograph from 1920 shows another bandstand that was an important element of small town living, with road workers standing in front of newly erected telephone poles. The current bandstand was built as a tribute to the town’s history and is located on the grounds of the public beach.
