Carman Covered Bridge carried McKee Road over Conneaut Creek between Springfield Township and Conneaut Township in northwestern Pennsylvania and was once one of only four covered bridges left in Erie County. Built in 1870 by William Sherman, it was a 75-foot single-span multiple King post-truss bridge. A notable feature was a painted advertisement on its north portal for the Stines and Wingate Clothing Store of Conneaut, Ohio. It joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 with Erie County’s other covered bridges, but its history ended when fire destroyed it in 1996. No replacement was built, leaving McKee Road ending at the creek on both sides.
