Located in a narrow path valley, the village of Concord was laid out circa 1790 by James Widney on the former Tuscarora Path, present-day Route 75. With its shops, the Linn mill, and three churches, the village served the surrounding farming community. During its heyday, noted stone mason John Weaver erected a twin-span, stone arch bridge in 1832 over Tuscarora Creek just west of the village. In its 220-year history, Concord has witnessed transportation improvements from native paths to modern highways.
