Pointless Peak is an unofficially named 12,256-foot summit in the Sierra Nevada of eastern California, within the John Muir Wilderness managed by Inyo National Forest. At the north end of Little Lakes Valley, just west of Rock Creek Lake and slightly east of the range’s main crest, it is notable for rising sharply above nearby terrain. From the lake, the summit gains about 2,550 feet in roughly a mile, creating strong local relief. Also known as Mono Mesa, the mountain lies in an alpine climate shaped by Pacific storms, and its runoff drains toward Hilton Creek on the north slope and Rock Creek on the east side.
