Acton Meek Cleveland, grandson of William Bull Meek, served Camptonville throughout his lifetime in many roles. He operated the Meek Mercantile Store and served as a Judge of the District Court, Deputy County Assessor, Post Office Clerk, operator of the Camptonville Water Service, supervisor of the district county road crew, and Master and Secretary of the Masonic Lodge. When the William Bull Meek Chapter of E Clampus Vitus was formed in 1938, he became its first Noble Grand Humbug. Main Street in Camptonville bears his name.
