Mount Baldy is a nine thousand two hundred seventy-one-foot peak in the Mount Rose Wilderness of western Nevada near Lake Tahoe, with its summit in Washoe County close to the California state line. Although the main summit stands in Nevada, a high point on the mountain’s west ridge forms the highest point in Placer County, California, showing how the mountain reaches the interstate border. Its name can be confusing because Mount San Antonio in Los Angeles County is also widely known as Mount Baldy, but this mountain is the Lake Tahoe-area peak in the Mount Rose Wilderness.
