Beaver Mountain is a ski resort in northern Utah near the summit of Logan Canyon in the Bear River Mountains. Opened in 1939, it has remained a modest, locally oriented ski area, especially popular with skiers from Logan, Utah State University, Cache Valley, Bear Lake, and nearby southeastern Idaho. Unlike many larger Utah resorts, it depends entirely on natural snowfall because it does not use snowmaking equipment, often opening later than other ski areas. The resort has stayed in the Seeholzer family from founder Harry Seeholzer to Ted and then Travis, and is known for its family character, long local following, and a mix of older lifts and later upgrades.
