Mansfield Covered Bridge in Mansfield, Indiana, spans Big Raccoon Creek on old Mansfield Road southeast of Rockville and is one of Parke County’s notable surviving covered bridges. Built in 1867 by Joseph J. Daniels for $12,200, it uses a double Burr Arch with a double-span truss, a design valued for strength. At 279 feet, it is the second longest covered bridge still standing in the county. Though built for wagons, horses, and pedestrians, it later carried State Route 59. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, it was repaired after closing in 1980 and remains open to the public year-round.
