In spring 1795, Daniel Boone and his wife returned from Virginia and built a log cabin here, where Boone and his family lived until they moved to the Louisiana Territory (Missouri) in 1799. This was Boone's last home in Kentucky, and the restored cabin stands near Lower Blue Licks, seven miles north, where Boone fought in the last battle of the American Revolution in the West on August 19, 1782.
