Wind River Glacier lies in Wyoming’s Wind River Range within Shoshone National Forest, on the northeast slope of Wind River Peak. The peak rises to 13,192 feet, making it the tallest mountain in the southern part of the range. Perched high on the mountain’s flank, the glacier is part of the alpine landscape that defines the Winds and helps characterize this high, cold headwaters region in one of Wyoming’s best-known mountain ranges.
