Grover Cleveland Park is a 41.48-acre county park in western Essex County, New Jersey, on the border of Caldwell and Essex Fells. Acquired between 1913 and 1916, it was named for President Grover Cleveland, who was born in Caldwell and served as the 22nd and 24th president of the United States. Designed as a formal landscape with wooded areas, open lawns, waterways, and Pine Brook Creek, the park was planned for recreation by the Olmsted Brothers. By 1916 it offered courts, fields, a playground, a wading pool, and a shelter house, and it remains a local recreational center with historic design features and modern amenities.
