The community of Licking dedicated a memorial to its men and women who honorably served the United States and gave their lives so others might enjoy their rights and freedom. The fallen listed are Charles B. Taylor and Pryor Hesse of the United States Navy; Paul L. Blair of the United States Marine Corps; Robert Pursifull, Terry Huff, Ronald G. Deweese, Bradley L. Melton, Tyler Smith, and Virgil E. Curran of the United States Army; and Wild West Jackson, James W. Arms, Ernest R. Martin, Norman R. Caton, Michel Clinton, Willie A. Shipp, Lawrence A. Johnson, Lee Roy L. Logan, Melvin J. Beasley, Everett Long, Clyde Buckner, Winferd Scott, Evan W. Wade, Calvin L. Burch, Roy V. Gregory, Ray E. Kirkman, Francis R. Willis, and Harry N. Saylor of the United States Army.
