Constructed in 1919 as a meeting place for the General Federation of Women's Clubs–Peoria Woman's Club, this building originally stood at the northwest corner of 83rd Avenue and Washington Street. Over the years, club members used it as a movie theater, dance hall, public library, and general gathering place serving the cultural and social needs of Peoria's growing population. Restored and relocated to its present location in 2008, it continued as a multi-purpose civic center. In 2005, the club became the GFWC Peoria-West Valley Women's Club to reflect membership from across the West Valley, and the Clubhouse continues to host a wide variety of programs that enhance the lives of generations of Peoria residents.
