Kweeyahgut Peak is a 12,855-foot summit in northeastern Utah's Uinta Mountains, within the High Uintas Wilderness and Ashley National Forest. Part of the Rocky Mountains and the 21st-highest summit in Utah, it is notable for steep local relief, rising more than 1,700 feet above Ottoson Basin in less than half a mile. Runoff from the mountain flows into tributaries of the Duchesne River. In 2022, its present name was officially adopted in place of a previous derogatory name; from the Ute language, kwiyagat, rendered here as Kweeyahgut, means "bear," a sacred animal in Ute culture. The peak also stands within a protected subarctic wilderness landscape.
