Longley Covered Bridge, also called the Harnois Covered Bridge, spans the Trout River in rural Montgomery, Vermont. Built in 1863, it is a Town lattice truss bridge and the oldest surviving example among local covered bridges built by brothers Sheldon and Savannah Jewett, sawmill operators credited with seven surviving bridges in the area. Their work gives Montgomery the highest concentration in Vermont of covered bridges attributed to a single builder. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and restored in 1992, the bridge is now closed to traffic because it leans and its trusses bow, surviving instead as a preserved historic structure.
