Built and dedicated on May 30, 1923, Warwood Fire Department No. 11 followed Warwood's annexation to the city of Wheeling on January 1, 1920, despite Warwood citizens voting against annexation. In response, the city built the fire station at a cost of $30,000.00 and purchased a pumper truck to show its commitment to providing public services to Warwood. Strategically located in the middle of Warwood's boundaries, the firehouse served local citizens for over half a century until the fire department moved its operations to Richland Avenue in 1974. After it was decommissioned, the building was used for storage until the Fitzsimmons family purchased it and renovated it as law offices in 1994. Earl Fitzsimmons, a volunteer fireman, was among Warwood's earliest residents and lived on North 19th Street. Robert J. Fitzsimmons, the youngest son of Earl and his wife Sarah among their eight children and a lifelong resident of Warwood, supervised the renovations. Robert Patrick Fitzsimmons, son of Robert J. and Patricia Fitzsimmons, purchased the building on January 1, 1994, and Valput Construction Company was the contractor for the renovations.
