History
22
On September 26th, 1936, flames swept across the city of Bandon with a roaring force and crushing heat. Lives were lost, and 484 buildings burned to the ground. Survivors surveyed the catastrophe and chose to stay and rebuild, and the city that many now enjoy as Bandon-by-the-Sea owes much to their spirit, courageous determination, and the valiant effort of the few.
