Iberville African-American Cemetery
History
In 1926, Paulin Verret's children created a memorial to him. Before the Civil War, he had been a free African-American and a wealthy planter in Bayou Goula. The donated land measured forty-eight feet wide and three arpents deep and was intended for African-Americans of Iberville.
