Constructed in about 1887 by owner James Green with brick from his own brickyard, this house is an early example of the one-story brick box, a house type most popular around 1905. It was innovative at a time when local styles predominated, as reflected in Victorian details, broad proportions, attention to shingle patterning, distinctive interior decoration, and one of the few out-houses in Utah built of brick.
