Bountiful Peak is a 9,259-foot mountain in northern Utah’s Wasatch Range that rises steeply above the Interstate 15 corridor, gaining more than 5,000 feet in about four miles. On Wasatch-Cache National Forest land, it lies near Bountiful and Farmington, with runoff from its slopes eventually reaching the Great Salt Lake. Skyline Drive and the Great Western Trail cross the peak, making it a notable route point in the high country above the Wasatch Front. Its name comes from nearby Bountiful, and the mountain is also remembered for the 1940 crash of United Airlines Flight 16 there after navigational equipment failed, killing all 10 aboard.
