Jiminy Peak is a four-season mountain resort in the Taconic Mountains of western Massachusetts, centered in Hancock with its summit in Lanesborough. By 1960 it had two T-bars, three rope tows, and four-dollar day lift tickets; today it features 45 trails, nine lifts, and extensive winter and summer recreation, including snow sports, dining, events, hiking, biking, and adventure attractions. It gained notice for the nation’s first Alpine Super Slide, which opened in June 1977, and for installing the East Coast’s first mountain coaster. The resort is also known for sustainability efforts, including a wind turbine added in 2007 and a cogeneration unit installed in 2012.
