Misery Mountain is a long ridgeline in the Taconic Mountains running about 6 miles along the Massachusetts–New York border, with its west side in New York and its 2,671-foot high point in Massachusetts. Rather than a single peak, it consists of at least ten distinct tops along a crest of meadow and woodland, including red spruce, balsam fir, and northern hardwoods. It is known for broad westward views across the Hudson River Valley. The Taconic Crest Trail follows part of its highest ground, and protected conservation land on the upper slopes and summit helps preserve its forests and open character.
