Silver Run Peak is a major summit in Montana’s Beartooth Mountains, rising to 12,547 feet in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness of Custer National Forest. It is the high point of the broad Silver Run Plateau in the eastern part of the range. Among the tallest summits in the Beartooths, it is also Montana’s sixth-highest peak. Its elevated position on a high-altitude plateau gives it unusual prominence in the surrounding landscape, joining the character of an isolated summit with the wide expanse of plateau country. The peak is significant chiefly for its geography and remains valued for its remote alpine wilderness setting.
