Carbonate Mountain is a 13,670-foot summit in the southern Sawatch Range of central Colorado, standing within San Isabel National Forest about 5.4 miles north of Garfield. It is one of Colorado’s thirteeners, the peaks that rise above 13,000 feet but remain below the state’s better-known fourteeners. Its location in the Sawatch places it within one of Colorado’s highest major mountain ranges, and its 4,167-meter elevation makes it a notable high-country summit in its own right.
