Parsnip Peak Wilderness is a protected 43,693-acre section of the Wilson Creek Range in northeastern Lincoln County, Nevada, where a high-desert mountain landscape rises from 6,160 to 8,916 feet through ridges, slopes, and basins. Granted federal wilderness status in 2004, it preserves both natural and cultural resources. Its varied elevations support aspen groves, grasslands, mountain mahogany, and sagebrush, along with habitat for elk, mule deer, and raptors including the northern goshawk. The area also contains prehistoric sites, notably the Mount Wilson Archaeological District, showing a human history far older than its modern protection.
