Built in 1914, this depot was the second station established by the Seaboard Air Line Railway in McBee. McBee, the most successful of the towns founded along Seaboard's Columbia-to-Cheraw line after its completion in 1900, grew so rapidly that a new depot had become a high priority by the end of the decade. The building served as both a passenger and freight depot until it closed in 1971, and it later became the McBee Library and Railroad Museum and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
