On February 9, 1949, the people of France presented this boxcar to South Carolina. It was one of the boxcars used to move soldiers and horses to and from fighting fronts during World War I, 1917 - 1918, and soldiers during World War II, 1944 - 1945. On May 28, 1995, it was rededicated in honor and memory of the brave men and women who served in all wars. Its locations were McPherson P – Greenville Park from 1949 – 1973, Cleveland Park – Greenville from 1973 – 1993, and American Legion Post 6 – Columbia from 1993.
