John Loveless built this single-pen log house in 1817 in an old Indian field. Beginning in 1835, Isaac Wellington Sadler and his wife, Martha Prude, added enclosing sections around the original log house. Isaac, the son of William Rose Sadler, was a planter, educator, and a founder of Pleasant Hill Methodist church. The house contains a prophet's chamber for traveling preachers.
